From: Estimating short and longer-term exposure of domestic cats to dietary iodine fluctuation

Batch-to-batch variation in iodine content of complete wet feed for pet cats. Iodine was measured by ICP-MS in duplicate samples (100–200 mg) of the freeze-dried, homogenised, TMAH-digested foods and corrected to the iodine concentration measured in duplicate TMAH-digested blank samples and certified reference material (CRM; SERO210705 Seronorm Trace Elements Urine L-2; LGC Standards). Dashed lines show the legal maximum and recommended minimum level of iodine that complete foods for adult cats should contain, according to FEDIAF.
