Microbial dissimilarity was assessed with Adonis test performed on Bray–Curtis distances between each couple of lines, and the corresponding p-value are reported in the table, and highlighted in bold letter when significant (*< 0.05. **< 0.01. and ***< 0.001). The whole population (vaccinated and challenged V-Ch, and non-vaccinated and challenged NV-Ch) was considered (n = 93). The vaccine status was set as main effect in the Adonis model for the analysis on the beta-diversity, and in the zero-inflated Gaussian mixture model from MetagenomSeq R package for the differential analysis on OTU abundance. Corresponding Supplementary Table S6 provide results of the differential abundance between each couple of lines.
