Effects of magnetic fluctuations on the ISO, LF-band and VLF-component. Magnetic declination (D) positively affects the LF-band (r = 0.5585, P = 0.0001) (left) and the VLF-component (r = 0.4104, P = 0.0046) (right) during ISS01, suggesting that the activation of the brain’s DMN by magnetic fluctuations may play an important role for improving the “intrinsic” cardiovascular regulatory system (β) in space. Pearson’s correlation coefficients computed from hourly averages of magnetic declination (D) and ISOs (LF-band and VLF component of HRV) in order to eliminate or at least reduce serial correlation.
