The production of immunomodulatory cytokines in T cells cocultured with OLP-MSCs and paeoniflorin-pretreated OLP-MSCs. Small amounts of the Th1 cytokines (a) TNF-α, (b) IFN-γ, (c) IL-1β and (d) IL-2 were produced, while large amounts of the Th2 cytokines (e) IL-4, (f) IL-5, (g) IL-10 and (h) IL-13 were produced by T cells cocultured with OLP-MSCs or paeoniflorin-pretreated OLP-MSCs using ELISA. The regulatory ability of paeoniflorin-pretreated OLP-MSCs was stronger than that of the untreated MSCs (*P < 0.05, **P < 0.01; #P < 0.05, ##P < 0.01). PF, paeoniflorin.
