  1. *Shoot proliferation and subculture on WPM supplemented with 1.0 mg/L BA and 0.2 mg/L NAA once every two months. Each treatment had 30 explants. For the treatment WPM with 1.0 mg/L 2,4-D, the number of explants was 180. + indicates a crude estimate of a relative amount of callus, ranging from sparse (+) to profuse (+++++).
