From: Sinococuline, a bioactive compound of Cocculus hirsutus has potent anti-dengue activity
Sinococuline reduces IL-6, a proinflammatory cytokine, in different organs of severely DENV-infected AG129 mice. The 100 µl of tissue homogenate supernatants from the corresponding experimental groups described in Fig. 5, were utilized for the evaluation of IL-6 by using mouse IL-6 ELISA kit. The assay was performed as per manufacturer’s instructions, levels of IL-6 were calculated and graphs were plotted through GraphPad prism. The statistical levels of difference of IL-6 between the groups were analyzed by Two-way ANOVA with Bonferroni’s multiple comparison test, where ns: not significant (p > 0.05), ***very significant (p < 0.001), *significant (p ≤ 0.02).
