A representative case showing the difference in the prediction of post-treatment retinal fluid status between human retina specialists and artificial intelligence (AI) models. Before treatment, both subretinal fluid and intraretinal fluid (IRF) are noted on an optical coherence tomography image (A). Two human examiners predicted the complete resolution of retinal fluid after aflibercept treatment, whereas the AI model predicted the remaining IRF (B, synthetic image, dotted circle). Residual IRF is noted (dotted circle) as per the AI model prediction on a real image obtained after aflibercept treatment (C).
