Tarsal joint measurements and inflammation are similar among treatment groups, while serum IL2 levels vary significantly. Mice were infected with CHIKV subcutaneously in the left hind foot near the tarsal joint. PBS, rIL2, anti-IL2 mAB or complex were administered to mice on days 16–18 post-CHIKV infection. The average joint size was calculated by multiplying the height by the breadth of the left tarsal joint. (b) Tarsal joint inflammation was calculated using [(x – day -1)/day -1)], where x is the footpad size measurement for a given day post-infection and day -1 is the day before infection.
