From: Evaluation of urine dipstick tests in experimental porcine urinary tract infection with uropathogenic Escherichia coli

A urine sample collected prior to inoculation showed absence of bacteria in all animals. Two days after experimental inoculation with uropathogenic Escherichia coli, all animals (n = 9) developed bacteriuria > 104 CFU·mL−1. One animal that was mock-infected did not develop bacteriuria (n = 1). Limits of detection was 10 CFU·mL−1. Horizontal bar indicates the mean.
