Differential ERPs time-locked to face onset display the differences between the Angry and Neutral conditions, and between the Happy and Neutral conditions within each Information condition (Real/Fake) for the tested components. For each component, the differences between conditions based on pooled activity across electrodes included in the respective region of interest (ROI) are shown. Error bands represent 95% confidence intervals around the difference, obtained via bootstrapping. The gray shading marks the time range taken into account for the analyses for each component. Asterisks indicate significant differences between the respective conditions observed in the analyses. *** p < .001, ** p < .01, * p < .05; n.s. = non-significant.
