From: Combination of high resolution MRI with 3D-printed needle guides for ex vivo myocardial biopsies
Ex vivo cryo-embedded histologic analysis stained with haematoxilin. The left image shows the histologic section of remote myocardium. On the contrary the right image shows the target area with high MPIO density (yellow arrows), which was manually selected using the R2* maps. Tissue was analyzed by using a ZEISS Axio Imager 2 optical microscope on 100 × magnification. Window levels were adapted to support the detection of MPIO.
