Proteolytic stability of peptides in mouse serum. Proteolytic stability of Ang II (red line), Ang II-SS (orange line), and VIPF (blue line) peptides was assessed by interaction with proteases from fresh mouse serum at time points of 0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 6 h. Aliquots were analyzed by liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (LC/ESI–MS) and values corresponding to percentage of the area under the peak were normalized based on the initial dose of each peptide. Data are representative of two independent experiments and are shown as mean ± SD, n = 9, as determined by one-way ANOVA followed by Kruskal–Wallis’ comparison test.
