Ang II-derived synthetic peptides lacked vasoconstrictive effects in mice. The mean arterial blood pressure of (A) C57BL/6 mice (n = 7, except for the Ang II group where n = 8) and (B) BALB/c mice (n = 6) treated with Ang II (red square), Ang II-SS (orange triangle), VIPF (blue inverted triangle), or vehicle (PBS, black closed circle) was evaluated at day 5 post-infection using a tail-cuff method. Data are shown as mean ± SEM from a single experiment. ***P < 0.001, ****P < 0.0001, as determined by one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s multiple comparisons test compared to vehicle (black closed circle), n = 7.
