  1. Immature rat hippocampal cells were cultured for three days in vitro (DIV) in the presence of 100 mT SMF for this experiment. The values in the table are expressed as percentages over the maximal reading found at the end of the experiments from an addition of 10 \(\upmu \)M of \(\text{Ca}^{2+}\) ionophore (A23187).
