Assessment of arginase and insulin on the growth and recovery of breast, lung, and ovarian cancer cell lines. Cell lines were treated with 1U/ml ARG with/without 1nM and 10nM of insulin for 9 days, and changed to complete media (indicated by the red arrow) for the following 8 days (a–i). (j–n) Cell lines that were able to recover from 1U/ml ARG treatment were subjected to 10U/ml ARG with/without 1nM and 10nM of insulin. Representative data are shown from two independent experiments with similar results. Data are presented as mean ± S.D, and are normalised to Day 0.
