(A) This brain network consisted of posterior piriform cortex (z = − 16, y = 0), anterior cingulate gyrus (x = − 8, x = 8, y = 20), the middle frontal gyrus (y = 0, y = 20) and supplementary motor area (y = 0), the right insula (y = 20) and parts of the orbitofrontal cortex (z = − 16). (B) The total number of occurrences and the resilience were significantly lower in PD patients compared to healthy controls (p = 0.023 and p = 0.016 respectively). There were no significant differences in terms of time duration among groups.
