Glutamate-induced toxicity in different neuronal cells. The effect of glutamate-induced cytotoxicity in different types of neuronal cell lines was assessed by MTS assay (n = 3). HT-22 cells were treated with varying concentrations of glutamate, ranging from 5 to 20 mM. Similarly, SH-SY5Y mouse neuroblastoma cell line were treated with glutamate at 40–200 mM, and Neuro-2A mouse neuroblastoma cell line were treated with glutamate at 5–160 mM for 18 h. Bar graphs show the % cell viability of (A) HT-22 mouse hippocampal cell line, (B) SH-SY5Y mouse neuroblastoma cell line, and (C) Neuro-2A mouse neuroblastoma cell line. The data were collected from at least three independent experiments and the results were shown in mean \(\pm\) SEM. **p-value < 0.01, ***p-value < 0.005, ****p-value < 0.001 compared with untreated control group.
