Graphical abstract that illustrates the treatment with LDE-docetaxel led to a decrease in cell proliferation with an increase in cellular apoptosis. This effect was amplified when combined with aerobic physical exercise. An increase in the cell cycle inhibitory proteins p-21 and p-27 can be observed, indicating an interruption in the G1/S and G2/M cell cycle transitions, suggesting a blockade in cell cycle progression at the G0/G1 phases. Elevated p-53 due to the treatment alters the apoptosis pathway by increasing the expression of BAX and caspase 3 and decreasing BCL-2.
