The single codon deletion in CARD9 of MAC-infected Miniature Schnauzers. The canine CARD9 gene is composed of 12 exons (ENSCAFT00000031299.1) and in MAC-infected Miniature Schnauzers a codon deletion exists in exon 3. The deleted amino acid is located in the first coiled-coil in CARD9 protein (E2R0V1-1), and the residue is highly conserved by lysine (K) or rarely arginine (R) in vertebrates.
