From: Bacteria inhabiting spider webs enhance host silk extensibility
The 1D 1H spectra (OCH and OCH2 units recorded at 500 MHz in D2O at 50 °C) of Trichonephila clavata MA silk samples incubated with either Novosphingobium sp. or Microbacterium sp. as well as that receiving control treatment, indicating presence of bacterial EPS in MS silk exposed to bacteria.
