Procedure of Experiment 1. (a) Participants’ posture. (b) Experimental design: before and after a visuo–tactile stimulation, a Forearm Bisection Task was performed for both forearms. During the visuo–tactile stimulation, participants observed their left hand, through the HDM, being stroked by a paintbrush during a synchronous or asynchronous condition. At the end of each condition, the Embodiment Scale was filled in. The visuo–tactile conditions order was counterbalanced across participants.
