Comparison of gut microbiota from COM patients before and after 14 days of 1,8-Cineol administration (3 times per day 200 mg Soledum forte) revealed a drastic difference in the microbial composition of the gut between non-responders and responders. Most obviously, responders revealed a high relative abundance of Prevotella copri with the genus Prevotella being significantly associated with the responder group and barely any Prevotella sp. being present in the gut of non-responders (created with BioRender.com, see text for details).
