The real-time effects of 1Â mM sucrose on net nitrate uptake by rice roots. Samples were collected every 10 min from 11:00 to 21:00. Sucrose was supplied to one plant from 13:00 to 19:00 and to the other from 15:00 to 21:00. (a) in the light and (b) in the dark.
