Values are expressed as the median (Q1–Q3, Q: quartile) for serum cytokine and chemokine concentrations. Analysis of the disease (D) group was performed after excluding two samples (one in each subgroup) with insufficient serum volume. Comparison between the CE and healthy (H) and disease groups was performed using the Mann–Whitney U test. Subgroup analysis was performed using the Kruskal–Wallis test followed by post hoc multiple comparisons using Dunn’s test with Bonferroni adjustment.
