Schematic overview of this study. Note: The air pollution figure shows the annual trend in the national concentration of PM2.5 in China from 1998 to 2021. This population-weighted and geographic-mean PM2.5 concentration series is obtained, computed, and calibrated based on the Atmospheric Composition Analysis Group's data collections and corresponding algorithms.
