Arrows start (shown with point) at the existing Black-Hispanic dissimilarity index in a given county, and end (shown with arrow head) at the final (50,000th) draw of the model. The results show that the Between-District model consistently outperforms the Within-District model. The magnitude of this overperformance varies dramatically between counties, with heterogeneity discussed in Supplementary Information Sects. A.6 and A.7.
