Area values of conjugates (Au – BSA ratio = 0.6) at 525 and 280 nm, normalized to the absorbance of AuCIT-BSA (A) and AuPEG-BSA (B) conjugates at 1 h. AuCIT-BSA and AuPEG-BSA mixtures were incubated and then injected or centrifuged (CEN) and then injected. After 1 h of incubation, an aliquot was also centrifuged and left to stand for 48 h (MIX 1 h CEN-48 h).
