Middle block B is relatively small and is bounded by the relatively rising fault blocks A and C on both sides with opposite tendencies. (b) The force of the rock masses below the floor is composed of the support pressure and overlying self-weight stress, the positive pressure exerted by blocks A and C, and the friction between the two faults. These combined forces determine the horizontal stress components of the floor caused by the graben structure. (c) The vertical and shear stress components of the floor caused by the graben structure are analyzed.
