Spine cells are replicative. (EdU incorporated nuclei). Pulsing spines for 0.5–3 h cultured in vitro resulted in significant EdU labeling. The epithelium looks remarkably tightly bound so how these divisions occur must include dynamic restructuring of the mitotic cells. Scale bar = 8 microns
