The microvillar diameters and the inter-microvillar distances of T. saltator rhabdomere (n = 50). (a), the diameters of the microvilli were about 70 nm on the 14th and 27th days, but they became 65 nm at around from the 46th day to adult. (b), the inter-microvillar distances become closer and tighter with growth: by day 46 they were about 12–14 nm, but by day 60 they were less than 7 nm apart. The tables show the probability levels obtained in comparisons between the means of two groups at different ages.
