These MR image series depict the HOD dynamic process of patient 12 in Table 1 who had pontine hemorrhage (A).Within the first 3 months of insult, the ION has increased signal intensity on T2WI without hypertrophy (B); After 7 months,the ION showed hyperintensity and hypertrophy signal (C). Hypertrophy regresses gradually and only hyperintensity is seen 4 years later. Hyperintensity persists indefinitely. Over time, the olives undergoes atrophy (DF).
