Figures show mediator concentrations in red blood cell (RBC) supernatants and prime samples before pre-bypass ultrafiltration (PBUF) and after PBUF. After PBUF, the concentrations of eight cytokines (MIF, IL-15, CCL11/Eotaxin, CCL2/MCP-1, VEGF, IL-5, VCAM-1 and ICAM-1) exceeded the median patient baseline concentration, while the remaining cytokines were at or below patient baseline. *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001; see Supplementary Figure S2 for figures of the remaining 42 cytokines.
