(b) The sample changer loaded with three single crystals mounted on a 3He-4He dilution cryostat for ultra-low temperatures measurement. Numbers show the positions of three samples. Cadmium shielding in between the samples is visible. (c) The sample translation scan, variable z, shows three peaks due to incoherent elastic scattering from the crystals. It is used to determine the positions of the samples. at the start of an experiment.
