Colormaps of the modelled pH over time for the variation of the initial Na2SO4 concentration c and the current density for a distance between the electrodes 10 mm. With increasing current density and decreasing concentration, the pH gradients become steeper and the pH values more extreme. The concentration significantly affects the location of the neutral area, which is a result of the reduced effective transport of H+ towards the cathode.
