Below, the deconvolution of the v2(CO3) region in the FTIR spectrum for each unit is shown. 879 cm−1 refers to type-A carbonates, 872 cm−1 to type-B carbonate substitution. Note that the carbonate band at 865 cm−1 is more defined in the bones bearing F− (GIII and GIV units).
