Values for DIC are from three stations in each of the Gully MPA and the Haddock Channel; black dashed line represents a composite depth profile fitted through all points. Values for POM are from the same stations, collected at the depth of peak primary productivity (~ 20 m) based on in situ O2 profiles measured during CTD downcasts. Taxa were collected at depths of 438 to 454 m, but their tissue ∆14C values are mapped to the corresponding depths on the composite profile of DIC ∆14C to infer the depth at which their food sources originated.
