Comparisons of the severity of diabetic retinopathy in original and image enhanced ultra-widefield fundus photographs. Comparisons of the severity of diabetic retinopathy between the original and enhanced image groups based on the International Clinical Diabetic Retinopathy Disease Severity Scale. The severity of diabetic retinopathy of the original and enhanced images was not the same in 14 of the 100 eyes. Three eyes had more severe retinopathy in the original image group, and 11 eyes had more severe retinopathy in the enhanced image group (P = 0.03, χ2 goodness-of-fit test). NPDR, non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy; PDR, proliferative diabetic retinopathy.
