In both cases the phosphorylated form represents the transcriptionally active factor. (C) Western blot analysis of IκBα revealed a decreased protein level in MSS compared to CT cells. Statistical analysis was performed using an unpaired t-test with Welch’s correction (**P < 0.01). (D) IF analysis of the intracellular distribution of phosphorylated NF-kB p65. CT and MSS cells were plated to 70% confluency, and the following day, cells were fixed and processed for IF. NF-κB p65 staining is shown in red, and DAPI in blue. Merged images are also provided.
