Ferroptosis Activator (Erastin) and Inhibitor (Fer-1) Promote and Suppress EBV Reactivation. (A) Mitochondrial morphology of Raji cells treated with TPA (20 ng/ml) or Fer-1 (10 µM) for 24 h was observed using transmission electron microscopy. (B) Raji cells were treated with TPA (20 ng/ml) and different concentrations of Fer-1 for 24 h. Western blotting was performed with the indicated antibodies. (C) The mitochondrial morphology of sh-GPX4 group and erastin (10µM) treated group(for 24 h) were observed using transmission electron microscopy. (D) Raji cells were treated with different concentrations of erastin for 24 h. Western blotting was performed with the indicated antibodies. (F) RNA was extracted from Raji cells treated with erastin (10 µM), and the mRNA expression levels of the EBV genes BRLF1 and BZLF1 were measured by real-time PCR. (E) RNA was extracted from Raji cells treated with TPA (20 ng/ml) or Fer-1 (10 µM), and the mRNA expression levels of the EBV genes BRLF1 and BZLF1 were measured by real-time PCR. The data shown are representative of three independent experiments. The data are presented as the means ± SDs. *P < 0.05; **p < 0.01 by one-way ANOVA.
