Bottom panel shows ultra-violet aerosol index (UVAI) observations from OMPS on 08 January 2020 at 00:00 UTC, which is ~13 h after the CALIOP observations in the top panel. The corresponding CALIPSO satellite track is superimposed green, with black indicating the segment used above. The horizontal extent of the stratospheric smoke plume (AI ≥ 15) is displayed in shades of yellow and red.
