Cross-validation R2 of 13 CMIP6 models over different regions are shown for historical (yellow, 1966–2005) and SSP585 (blue, 2060–2099). Bigger crosses show the multi-model mean. R2 decreases significantly in the future over Greenland, perhaps because of the scarcity of future heatwaves.
