Synucleinopathies are a group of progressive neurodegenerative diseases known for the accumulation of alpha-synuclein (α-syn) aggregates in the brain. Brain imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET) can assist in the diagnosis of synucleinopathies such as Parkinson’s disease (PD), but α-syn-specific imaging tracers are lacking.
