a–h Fluorescent immunohistochemistry of the identified protein antigens (green) along with FAK (red) was performed onto the clinical GC specimens from which these immunoglobulins were originally discovered. The blue color represents Hoechst for nuclear staining. The white bars indicate 50 μm. The white arrowheads indicate representative colocalization of protein antigens and focal adhesions in cancer cells (only in a–e). Clear colocalizations were reproducibly observed in multiple of GC cells in at least five randomly selected microscopic fields in these clinical GC samples (only in a–e).
