One cochlea was incubated with one concentration of K+ and another cochlea of the same mouse was incubated in the NES (K+ = 5.37 mM) as control. The data pooled from all cochlear turns were averaged and normalized to that in the control cochlea of the same mouse. N is the mouse number at each data point. A smooth solid line represents data fitting to a Hill’s function y = y0 + a * Cn/(EC50n + Cn), where median concentration EC50 = 24.7 mM.
