From: Acetylation of histone H3K27 signals the transcriptional elongation for estrogen receptor alpha
H3K27ac signals the transition from transcriptional initiation to elongation. The SEC is recruited to TSS of ESR1 gene through the interaction between AFF4 and H3K27ac. The interaction between TFAP2C and AFF4 further stabilizes the SEC, and facilitates the recruitment of additional coactivators, mediators, and RNA polymerase II. P-TEFb phosphorylates CTD of RNA pol II and allows the pause-release of RNA pol II for transcriptional elongation.
