From: Genetic ancestry plays a central role in population pharmacogenomics

Genomic structures of 26 populations in five continents were explored using principal component analysis, hierarchical clustering analysis, and homozygosity disequilibrium analysis. Within each of the six study ancestry groups (whole-continents, AFR, AMR, EAS, EUR, and SAS), AIMs were identified based on each of four genetic variation categories using two-sided Fisher exact tests. Ancestry-informative PGx were identified and an enrichment of AIMs in PGx loci was evaluated using one-sided Fisher exact tests. Finally, a genetic ancestry PGx database was constructed.
