Wuhan strain in negative stain (a) and cryo-ET (b). Alpha strain (B.1.1.7) in negative stain (c) and cryo-ET (d). Beta strain (B.1.351) in negative stain (e) and cryo-ET (f). Delta strain (B.1.617) in negative stain (g) and cryo-ET (h). The negative stain fields show predominantly circular views of virions, while the tomogram sections show circular, elliptical side, and oblique views. All four variants show similar virion profiles decorated with Spike proteins.
