Tracing is performed in 3D, using the whole stack of serial images, although only one image is shown here. See Supplementary Movie 1 to see how tracing is performed by navigating the stack in 3D. Synaptic junctions have been connected to their parent dendrites and axons. Synaptic junctions have been segmented in green. b The software provides information from each individual trace. In this example, quantitative information includes the length of several dendrites, number of axons contacted and number of spines.
