Aerobic oxidative cleavage of monosubstituted 1,2-diols to esters. Reaction conditions: 1,2-diol (0.25 mmol), MeOH (4 mL). Conversion was determined by HPLC using biphenyl as internal standard. Yield was determined by GC using biphenyl as internal standard and the product was confirmed by GC-MS, values in parentheses correspond to yield of aldehydes
