In the three cases, the distributions are calculated in a vertical plane passing by the center of the incident beam in the case of a structure composed of N = 7 bilayer stacks. The beam-waist of the incident beam is set as W0 = 10 μm in a, b, c, W0 = 30 μm in d, e, f, and W0 = 1 mm in g, h, i and it is Transverse Electric (TE)-polarized. Maps in (a, d, g) (b, e, h) and (c, f, i) correspond to the electric-field amplitude in the superstrate, the bilayer stacks and the substrate, respectively. For the sake of clarity, the electric field was auto-normalized in each zone so that the maximum value of the scale bar varies from one to another map allowing the visualization of both incident and reflected beams.
